En Cada Esquina

En Cada Esquina is a photo-driven magazine and storytelling platform documenting Mexican food spaces, and the life around them in the Midwest.

Ten years ago, "taco trucks on every corner" was meant to stoke fear. En Cada Esquina reclaims that warning as a storytelling lens. Corners—our esquinas—are where life unfolds: where workers gather, buses stop, and communities gather over shared meals.

We use food not as a novelty, but as a Trojan piñata: a familiar entry point that spills truths of labor, migration, gentrification, and power. We explicitly reject the hijacked concept of "authenticity." Instead, we celebrate regional specificity, tradition, and the individual vision each chef brings to their changarro.

Written in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, paired with documentary photography, this print-first publication is a deliberate act of rebellion against digital algorithms and AI slop. It is our pedacito de arena—a tangible space to honor the resilience, complexity, and stories of our people.
